EMI/EMC and Safety Experts

Chomerics Test Services stays on top of the rapidly changing worldwide EMI/EMC and safety regulatory standards for both commercial and military products. Our active participation in many U.S. EMI/EMC standards developing committees, e.g., ACIL, EIA G-46, SAE-AE-4, ANSI C63.1, C63.8 and IEEE EMC Technical Committee TC-4, as well as the active involvement at all levels of the IEEE-EMC Society, allows us to provide timely insight into all aspects of EMI/EMC compliance issues. Chomerics was presented with NARTE's most prestigious award, the distinctive Organizational Certification, reflecting our proven technical competence and adherence to meaningful standards in the testing industry. Our NARTE certified engineers provide technical counsel of the highest caliber to our customers.

As one of the country's few EMI test laboratories with NIST/A2LA accreditations for FCC Part 15, our testing activities can be relied upon for quality unequaled in the industry.

EMI Test Facilities

Chomerics shielded enclosures for military, and commercial radiated immunity testing measure 10'x22'x10' and 20'x16'x10'. They include three adjacent 8'x8'x8' shielded rooms for test and EUT support equipment. The 20'x16'x10' room is a semi-anechoic facility. In addition, Chomerics Test Services operates a ferrite-tiled test chamber measuring 10'x22'x10' which meets the field uniformity requirements of EN61000-4-3.

For commercial equipment emission and immunity testing, Chomerics operates two temperature controlled, 3 and 10 meter open field test sites, both of which exhibit characteristics accepted and on file with the FCC. One site is equipped with a flush mounted 14' diameter, 5000 lb. capacity turntable. Both sites are equipped for 50 Hz/60 Hz power.

Frequency range of measurement of both emissions and susceptibility is DC to 100 GHz. Radiated susceptibility test equipm,ent allows for field level testing to 200 volts/meter up to 40 GHz. A separate 16'x12'x10' shielded enclosure is set-up specifically for shielding effectiveness testing on cables, cabinets, shielded windows, shielded air vents, EMI gaskets and composite panels. In addition, transfer impedance measurement capabilities (30 MHz-1 GHz) for planar materials per ASTM D4935 and EMI gaskets per SAE ARP 1705 are also available.
