SOFT-SHIELD®
4800 Multi-planar conductive Z axis foam EMI gaskets represent
Chomerics newest innovation in soft foam based EMI shielding
technology. The unique integration of electrically conductive
fibers into low density foam provides the basis for a performance
driven, cost effective EMI shielding solution.
Through the optimization of conductive fiber construction, loading
and dispersion within the foam matrix, Soft-Shield 4800 provides
superb Z axis conductivity with extremely short ground paths.
Since the integrity of the base foam is uncompromised, Soft-Shield
4800 offers exceptional physical and mechanical properties.
Soft-Shield 4800 is manufactured in rolls and is easily converted
into product forms applicable for I/O panels, backplanes, connectors,
access panels along with rectangular/ square strip gasket seals.

Chomerics
Licenses Florida Custom Mold (FCM) to Apply ECOPLATE in the Southeastern
US
Chomerics is pleased to announce that Florida Custom Mold, a plastics
injection molding company located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida,
has licensed the Ecoplate EMI shielding process for metallizing
plastic housings. Now you can receive one stop shopping from a company
who can work with you to design, tool and build a plastic part as
well as provide a top quality shielding and finish coating process.
FCM has set-up the Ecoplate process at their Ecoplate Custom Finishing
subsidiary , located in Holiday, Florida and has begun to accept
orders and apply Ecoplate shielding to plastic parts. By granting
this license to FCM, Chomerics expects that local southeastern US
customers will receive significant service, cost and lead-time supply
chain advantages
The Ecoplate
process offers equivalent shielding performance to electroless plating
but at a considerable cost advantage. Ecoplate offers significant
shielding performance advantages to traditional acrylic conductive
paints and exhibits excellent adhesion for long term reliability
to a wide variety of polymer surfaces and geometries. It has been
specified for use in many demanding telecommunications, medical,
automotive and military applications.
Chomerics will continue to apply Ecoplate directly at our Hudson,
New Hampshire facility.
