CHO-MUTE™ Microwave Absorber - Offers UL-94 V0 Flammability

Chomerics, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:
PH), announced the introduction of CHO-MUTE™ 9005 and
9025 elastomeric RF and microwave absorbers that are both
flame rated UL94-V0. Both materials are efficient cavity and
surface current absorbers. They incorporate an advanced silicone
polymer system that offers the benefit of wide band absorption
and high permeability in a lightweight and flexible product
form.
CHO-MUTE
9005 radio frequency and microwave absorbing material features
an operating frequency range of 500MHz to 26GHz. CHO-MUTE
9025 material has an operating frequency range of 30MHz to
12GHz.

According to
Chomerics product manager Bob Foster, "CHO-MUTE materials provide
high permeability for efficient energy absorption. They are ideal
when applied in demanding applications such as high-speed routers
and switches, high-frequency transmitters, computer processors,
military electronics, and hand-held devices such as PDAs and mobile
phones. They can help our customers meet government RF regulations
at lower cost than alternative methods."
CHO-MUTE 9005
and 9025 are sold in standard 10 x 20 in. (254 x 508 mm) sheets
which can be die cut in custom dimensions as well as complex molded
shapes or over molded on to metal or plastic substrates.
