Webster Plastics, located in Fairport, New York, is a full service custom plastic injection molding company operating a 75,000 sq. ft. facility housing 45 injection molding machines and a variety of secondary operations. “The entire team in the Fairport plant performed exceptionally well in defining and developing a robust quality management system that is both process-oriented and focuses on continuous improvement of customer satisfaction,” according to John Beswick, Webster Plastics business unit manager. Webster Plastics provides engineered custom plastic injection molding solutions for transportation such as transmission components, engine housings, cylinder head covers, mechanical and electrical components. ISO/TS 16949:2002 is a worldwide automotive technical specification developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) – a group of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers (General Motors, Daimler/Chrysler, Ford, BMW, PSA Citroen, Volkswagen, Renault, Fiat) and their respective trade associations. It is based on the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000, AVSQ (Italian), EAQF (French), VDA6 (German) and QS-9000 (U.S.) standards, all aligned under a single standard. ISO/TS 16949:2002 promotes continuous improvement, defect prevention, waste reduction and limited specification variances in the automotive supply chain.
